Create+
Create alongside artisans: a break from routine that invites presence.
Experience+
Immersive, regionally rooted experiences instead of rushing from place to place.
Ground+
Weaving in time for some well-deserved rest through gentle, somatic experiences.
Day 1

Welcome to Bolivia
Arrive at Hacienda Telares, unpack, and take it easy. At 2,900m, the altitude might say hello before we do, so we’ll ease in with a light lunch and a relaxed welcome to help everyone feel at home.
In the evening, we gather for a K’oa — a traditional Andean welcome ceremony (grounding, not preachy) led by one of our dear friends. It’s the perfect way to open our creative week together.
Early night? Late chats? Your call.
Day 2

Culture & Clay
We start the day with Morning Pages and breakfast — creativity first, coffee second (or… both at once).
After admiring ancient pottery found on-site at our lodging (dating back to 800 AD — no big deal!), we head into the city for a visit to the Archaeological Museum to set the scene for the materials and techniques you’ll be working with all week. Then it’s time to get out of our heads and into our hands.
In the afternoon, we visit La Casa del Ceramista — a family-run potter’s paradise shaping clay for over 30 years. Guided by local ceramistas Mo and Paula, you’ll make your own take on traditional Andean whistles that are still used in rituals and ceremonies. Yes, you get to play with clay. Yes, it’s as fun as it sounds!
Option to unwind at the local sauna in the evening.
Day 3

Folkloric Fashion
From inspiration to “Wait, I made this?”
After Morning Pages, we dive into Bolivian fashion, color, and symbolism with designer Edita, who’ll share her journey from artist in Bolivia to international runways — all while proudly showcasing folkloric fashion.
We’ll sketch simple designs, then head to La Cancha (the biggest market in South America) to source materials before working with our local seamstresses to bring your piece to life.
No experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to try.Evening options include documentary night… or collapsing into bed feeling inspired.
Day 4

You do you - Free Day
Today is intentionally unscheduled.
Sleep in, rest at Hacienda Telares, wander markets or the main square, sketch at a café, or visit Palace Portales and its gardens (a mini palace funded by Simón de Patiño).We’ll share our favorite local cultural and culinary tips, but how you spend the day is completely up to you.
Day 5

Cochabamba Cuisine
Today we head into the city — Bolivia’s gastronomical heart — to soak up the flavors and stories of its food scene.
We’ll meet Veruschka and her team at Elevate Coffee for a deep dive into coffee, creativity, and conscious entrepreneurship, followed by lunch with Tais, who reimagines traditional Bolivian dishes through a delicious vegan lens (even meat-lovers approve).
In the afternoon, we hop on bikes to cruise past colorful murals with a local muralist , before ending the day at the Christ statue with golden-hour views and an intimate Bolivian wine tasting led by wine connoisseur Melina, who’ll share stories from the country’s often-overlooked vineyards.
Day 6

Threads of Tradition
After our morning pages, doña Carlotta and Kelly will share their knowledge on backloom weaving.
You’ll learn to spin and dye llama wool using natural pigments that can be found on site (shopping from plants in our backyard) guided by close observation and hands-on practice.
This is slow, tactile work — spinning, twisting, chatting, unraveling, and starting again. It’s calming, meditative, and quietly addictive.
Day 7

Threads of Tradition 2
We continue working with our dyed wool as the Awichas demonstrate backstrap loom weaving. You’ll hand-weave your own small piece to take home as a souvenir.
The workshop takes place in La Paz, so you’ll also have time to explore the city — markets, cafés, and a little wandering are all encouraged.
Day 8

Farewell (for now)
We’ll close our creative retreat with a farewell breakfast and a reflective activity to help you carry your creativity forward into everyday life.
And if you’re sticking around Bolivia — don’t worry, we’ve got plenty of tips to keep the adventure going!
